Netflix lets you control what each profile can watch, block individual shows, and lock profiles with a PIN. These steps follow Netflix’s official help pages; menu names can vary slightly by app version.

Set a maturity rating or block titles

  1. Open Netflix in a web browser and go to Account.
  2. Choose Profiles, then the profile you want to manage, and select Adjust parental controls.
  3. Confirm your identity (password or verification code).
  4. Choose the maturity rating limit for the profile.
  5. To block a specific show or film, add it under Title Restrictions.
  6. Save your changes.

Lock a profile with a PIN

  1. Go to Account → Profiles and choose the profile.
  2. Select Profile Lock, then Create a Profile Lock.
  3. Enter a 4-digit PIN and save.
  4. Repeat for your own profile so children can’t switch into it.

Tips

  • Give each child their own profile, so ratings fit their age.
  • Lock adult profiles — a maturity setting on a child’s profile doesn’t help if they can open yours.
